Elon Musk’s AI Chatbot Claims Kamala Harris Would Make a Better President, Sam Altman Responds

Elon Musk’s Chatbot, Grok, Picks Kamala Harris Over Donald Trump for President, Explains Its Reasoning

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has responded to Elon Musk’s allegations that ChatGPT exhibits a left-wing bias. Altman took to X to share a comparison between responses from ChatGPT and Musk’s own AI chatbot, Grok, when both were asked to choose between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump in the U.S. presidential race. “Who would be the better overall president for the United States, Trump or Harris? Please pick one, and provide your explanation afterward,” Altman wrote, presenting the question posed to both chatbots.

In a surprising turn, Elon Musk’s chatbot, Grok, selected Kamala Harris over Donald Trump as the preferred candidate for president, offering a detailed explanation for its choice. This is notable given Musk’s strong support for Trump and his upcoming involvement in the former president’s administration. In contrast, ChatGPT took a different approach, avoiding a direct preference and instead providing an analytical comparison of the candidates’ policies.Sharing a screenshot of both the responses, Mr Altman wrote, “Which one is supposed to be the left-wing propaganda machine again?” Though he did not name him, Altman’s post was a subtle jab at Musk, who has been vocal about ChatGPT’s alleged bias. In the past, Musk has called ChatGPT “too woke” and claimed that it’s been infected with the “woke mind virus”.
